three

Hello friends,

Three things I am excited about this week:

1) This film, which I saw Saturday with Rena. We saw a screening; it's not actually released until next month. See it if you can. It's awesome. Not for type and graphic design geeks only. Truly a good film.

2) Setting up Rare Device San Francisco. Did I mention that I am having fun? Like more fun than I have ever had? Makes up for the fact that I am also busier than I have ever been.

3) Starting a new series of monthly interviews I am doing with people who inspire me by living incredibly creative lives. My first interview (with a really awesome person) will be posted in a couple days!!

Working hard also to finish work for my upcoming show in L.A. I am basing the work on ocean creatures, mostly small ones. Here is a larger piece I finished last week for the installation.

Peace, all.

Lisa, Your work is just getting better and better!!! Love this one! "good busy" is GOOD!!! Keep it up, YOU are very inspiring!

I can feel your energy thru the web...man you have a wonderful life. Wish I was going to be at the store's opening. xoxoxo

I love the subtle colors you use in this collage. I look forward to reading your interviews-- they will make your already inspiring blog even more inspiring.

Oh man, I love this SO much. It's making me SWOON! Lovely work.

I love seeing your work get more and more sophisticated!

The movie was sold out here in NY and didn't get to see it, but MOMA is having a great exhibit on the font currently. Can't wait for the interviews.

oh i can't wait to see that movie! and this piece is so rich. lovely lisa.

look forward to reading those interviews...what a wonderful idea.

Wow--that new piece is just gorgeous! All the colors, pattern combined... beautiful.

Thanks for posting the link about the film! My little graphic-design-student's heart is getting all fluttery and excited! :) An entire film about typography? Can life get any better? ;) lol.

I cannot wait to read the interviews you're doing. There is nothing I love more than reading about what inspires other creative types and being inspired and creatively pushed in my turn. :)

Have a lovely day!!

I am so excited you're getting into gouache. It's such a smooth flowy paint. Not as impermeable as acrylic, but much easier to control.
