baby squirrels!!
Hi friends,
These little guys were found abandoned and were really sick. My friend Maris is fostering them for a wildlife refuge until they are ready to go to an outside shelter and then to be released. Believe me, in a matter of weeks, they will not want anything to do with humans. In fact, these little guys' instinct kicks in and they will not stand to be held...and will BITE. So when Maris fosters babies we have a short window of time when they are cuddly and cute...and then it's over.
On another note, I will be back in a couple days with some photos of some pieces I've been working on for Velocity Art and Design which will soon be for sale on their online shop.
Have a great day.

they are so cute. and what a great thing your friend is doing! how does one go about fostering hurt animals for the wildlife refuge?

oh my goodness! they are so adorable... what a special opportunity to be able to be that close to these little critters! :) the only ones I've ever had come up close was one years ago that sat about three feet away while I was having a picnic lunch, begging for marshmallows. lol!

Baby squirrels are the best. My friend Sara fostered a trio of them for a while ;)
I hope you are well! Everything seems wonderful at L.C. headquarters.

actually. i have a friend that has a pet squirrel. (illegal, i know). he was really evil and mean for about 6 months after they found him after a storm...but now, if she's crying, he'll come to her and nuzzle with her neck. he never wants her to leave, so when she gets ready for work her boyfriend has to keep him occupied. when he hears her hairspray he knows that she'll be leaving and he'll bolt for the door and hiss at her trying to get her to stay. i bet that if you could manage to hold out for those horrible months of them biting and clawing you you'd end up having a pretty neat pet.

They are so cute!
It is nice to know that they have a good chance of integrating back into nature and they will probably be suspicious of humans later on. I am so glad somebody does the work helping abandoned squirrel babies!
