Looking for an Intern
Hello friends!
I am starting the search for a part-time intern to assist me with with my studio/sales/illustration work. This position is not paid, and is for experience only. I imagine I will need someone 1 day a week to start, and I am flexible with hours/days of the week. Hours might increase after February, and there is a possibility I could start paying about $8-10 an hour by March as well if things go well. Responsibilities would include:
- Prep/finishing of pieces: sanding, varnishing, applying backings and hanging fixtures.
- Shipping, packaging
- Taking/editing photos of my work
- Helping me hang my installations
- Communicating with clients and customers via email
- Running errands (having access to a car is a plus. I will pay for gas and travel expenses)
- Problem solving/critique around design/construction issues I encounter in my work
- Clean up, studio organization
- Website update (if you have such skills)
Work will take place either at my studio, which is at 3rd & 23rd in Dogpatch (SF) or at my apartment, which is near 16th and Mission (SF).
Preferred experience/characteristics I am looking for:
- Some art experience, whether self-taught or schooled
- Interest in art and design
- Strong aesthetic, sense of design
- Friendly, kind, open, mature
- Flexible
- Detail oriented
- Eager to learn
- Able to take direction well
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
- Responsible, conscientious, on time
- Photoshop skills a BIG plus
- Comfortable on the computer; website skills are a plus
If you or someone you know is interested in interviewing for this position in early January, please shoot me an email at admin@lisacongdon.com!
Thank you!
