in the studio

Hello friends,

Today has a been a lovely day despite the rain and cold. This morning I went to have a visit with Lisa at her studio across the bay. I packed Wilfredo in his travel tote and we hopped on the train for a short ride under the water and over to Oakland. Lisa and I are scheming for our upcoming show in July at Artstream Gallery in New Hampshire.

I think we agreed on a theme and now we are in the research phase. And, yes, we are going to be traveling together to for our opening and will do a tiny bit of traveling in the area while we are there.

After our visit, some birthday gifting (thank you, Lisa!) and enormous breakfast (still full) I came back to San Francisco to head to my studio to work. I feel pretty happy because today I finished my last painting for my upcoming opening on the 31st. Next step is framing them. The aforementioned Lisa gave me some great tips on resources for floating my pieces in frames. I am looking forward to getting started once all my supplies come in.

I love spending time here at the studio. Today it's been so peaceful and quiet (not always this quiet). Just Misa and me working. She's been putting up some of her creations around our space and it looks so cool.

{And yes we have wonderful skylights. So good.}

Now it's time for me to get on the bus and head back to my apartment, as tonight I am taking one of my best friends to dinner/movie for her birthday. I have not been to a movie in a long while and am very excited; I am just as excited to spend time with this dear friend, as I adore her very much. Happy birthday, Nathalie!!
