wow
Hello friends,
It doesn't happen often that I get super cranky. But when I do, it comes on pretty strong. Today I am having one of those days. I do not have my usual mojo or joie de vivre or patience for bumps. I like it on rough days when I discover something really soothing and awe inspiring. And that happened to me today. I caught sight of the work of Jim Denevan via ffffound.
Jim creates incredible, seemless art/pattern in sand.
I have long been a fan of Andy Goldsworthy and of the mythic/unexplainable crop circle phenomenon (at one point in my life I read/watched everything on the topic, to the point of obsession), and this kind of art within the confines of specific natural sites really appeals to my sensibilities (real or supernatural). I both love and hate its fragile impermanence. I am constantly in awe of the amazing tools nature gives us to create yet more beauty.
Okay, I feel better now.
Happy Friday.

wow is right! thank you for sharing, these are absolutely beautiful!! and I hope things look brighter tomorrow :)

I too have been an Andy Goldsworthy fan forever. I think I have all his books. Have you seen his DVD. I loved seeing the fragility of his stick sculptures and his response when it collapsed near completion. Have a happy weekend lisa.

That is beautiful. I'm sorry you're so cranky, something is in the air that's making life a little too fast these days for me.
When I was a minion in the design department at Marithe and Francois Girband, Francois became obsessed with crop circles at one point and we were scrambling, trying to design a line around the whole subject. It was a weird time, crop circles can only translate to saleable fashion so far : )
